Alt codes are keyboard shortcuts that let you type special characters by holding Alt and pressing a number sequence on your numpad. For example, Alt+0169 types © (copyright symbol).
Click on any symbol to copy it to your clipboard. Then paste it anywhere using Ctrl+V (Windows) or Cmd+V (Mac).
Alt codes work on Windows with a numeric keypad. On Mac, you can use Option key combinations or the Character Viewer. On laptops without numpad, you may need to enable Num Lock first.
